    Domaine Château Viranel

Tradition, modernity and family define this area where know-how has been transmitted for 5 centuries (1551). The site has its roots in the remains of a Gallo-Roman Villa, and the modern building was built in 1911.

    Domaine Cathala

Located on the slopes of the Cévennes and Haut Languedoc Natural Park , the Domaine Cathala enjoys a variety of rich clay-limestone soils as well as shale. This complementarity of two exceptional terroirs offers wines beautiful aromatic undertones.

    Regional activities

    Thau Pond

Separated from the sea by a narrow coastal cordon and dominated at one end by Mount Saint Clair (former volcano) and Sète, it covers nearly 7,500 hectares. Rich in biodiversity, it has been a breeding place for oysters and shellfish since antiquity. On its edge lie wonderful wild beaches and typical fishing villages such as Marseillan and Mèze. You can visit the seabed and oyster parks. Our favorite: a dinner made of oysters and mussels, in a shellfish farm, on a terrace set on the pond to admire a sunset.

    Herault Gorges

There are many sights not to be missed: the village of Laroque, the bridge of Saint Etienne d’Issenssac (xviisiècle), the cave of the Demoiselles, the medieval village of Saint Guilhem the Desert, and finally the Devil’s Bridge that spans the Herat to a narrow and vertiginous parade. Ranked among the most beautiful villages in France, Saint Guilhem, a Unesco World Heritage Site, is a gateway to the chaos and discovery of the Circus of Navacelles which is one of the most beautiful natural sites in France (label Grand Site de France) .

    Circus of Mourèze

The Mourèze Circus and Liausson Mountain: Geological Curiosity and stunning views of Lake Salagou. You should not miss this hike under any circumstances! The circus of Mourèze is an extraordinary landscape, completely different from our scrubland. Indeed, it is like a western site with 340 hectares of gigantic dolomitic rocks with new shapes, strange and surprising. This natural amphitheatre has been inhabited by man for more than 4000 years.

    Carcassonne

What visitor will not be impressed upon arrival by the impressive and majestic defensive walls of the upper city? World-famous and Unesco-listed, Carcassonne has kept a very exceptional heritage that gives us 26 centuries of history. From Cessenon, before or after the visit of Carcassonne, a stop is necessary to visit the castles and sites Cathares such as the castles of Lestours or Minerve.

    Canal du Midi

The 240 km long Canal du Midi, which connects Toulouse and Sète, is a unique work built in the world in the 17th century and has earned it a UNESCO World Heritage Designation. Its route is littered with exceptional works such as the Malpas tunnel, the 9 locks of Fonserannes, the round lock of Adge,… Today, the Canal du Midi concentrates two major activities: river tourism and the transport of water for irrigation of land.

    Mediterranean beach

They encourage lazing. With family and friends, the beaches give a pleasant impression of well-being. From La Grande-Motte to Valras-beach, via the Cap d’Agde or Marseillan and so many others, in the shade of the umbrellas, enjoy the murmur of the waves and let go! Some of them have retained a rare wild character, and are home to some treasures such as St. Peter’s Cathedral in Maguelonne, 4 kms from Palavas.
